The Wedding
Where and When will the wedding be?
The wedding will take place at MEET Las Vegas, 233 South 4th St Las Vegas. The ceremony will begin at 5:30PM and the reception will follow immediately after. If you want to scope out the venue beforehand, you can visit their website.
Where should I stay?
The venue is off-strip, near Fremont St (old Las Vegas). However, Ann-Marie and Kal will be staying on-strip and they recommend you do too, since there is significantly more to do, see, and eat on-strip.
We will be staying in the Park MGM. We would love if you stayed in the same hotel as us, so we can see as much of you lovely people as possible!
How do I get to the Venue?
The venue is a 20-minute Uber ride from pretty much any hotel on-strip. If you don’t have Uber or Lyft, we highly recommend you download it because it is the cheapest and easiest way to get around Las Vegas. There will be extremely limited parking, if any at all, on-site at the venue, so driving is not recommended. If you don’t have Uber, you can use the front desk concierge at the hotel to have them call you a traditional taxi.
How do I get to Las Vegas?
Keep an eye out for cheap flights, now is the time to book! There are tons of flights from pretty much anywhere to Las Vegas, including direct flights from China, Israel, Toronto, and even Hamilton. You can book flights separately, or you can look for flight + hotel packages which are often more cost-effective. See the FAQ above for flight-search tips such as helpful apps or sites to look for!
Can I get you a gift?
This is a destination wedding, which means that your presence is a gift enough for us. We are just happy that you have taken the time and effort to travel to Las Vegas to celebrate with us! However, if you do wish to give us a gift, we request that you contribute to our “Bay Area Housing Is Very Expensive” fund, which will allow us to finally open our dream gym/workshop that happens to also contain a bed.
Visit our zola regeistry here.
It’s been a really long time since I read the FAQ, can you remind me of anything else I need to know?
Please remember the following things about the wedding:
- In order to allow for all guests, including parents, to enjoy the night, this will be an adult’s only wedding, excluding immediate family.
- The dress code is “creative black tie”. Onesies, Elvis costumes, and Hawaiian shirts will be forcibly extracted from the wedding.
- Please do not drink and drive (and come prepared to drink, this is a Vegas wedding after all). There are many, many transportation options and very limited, if any, parking at the venue. We ask that no one drive to the venue unless absolutely necessary.
Can I stay closer to the Venue?
Absolutely! There are many, many hotels off-strip that are much closer to the Venue. AirBNB is also an option if you want to stay in a house or apartment. These locations are typically much more cost-efficient, but are m much quieter and have far less to do nearby without having to Uber to another location.
As well, there are many off-strip resorts you can stay at, if you want to turn it into a mini-vacation. Note that these may be farther out of the city, and could be a longer Uber ride to and from the venue. And as we mentioned in the FAQ, there are also many creative options you can take, such as a 23 bedroom mansion rental for you and 22 of your closest friends!
I sent in my physical RSVP, but there was no food option!
Correct. Don’t worry, you will be fed. Vegetarians need not to worry, you will be accommodated.
However, if you have any sort of dietary restrictions that we should know about (Celiac, Vegan, Only eat small rocks in the shape of Ellen Degeneres), you must respond in the “Some Questions for You” section or you risk having to order delivery to the Venue so that you can eat!
I want to stay a little bit after the wedding/come early before the Wedding. Any recommendations in Vegas?
During planning of the wedding, we have been fortunate enough to visit Vegas dozens of times. We have compiled a short list of some of the cool stuff there is to do in Vegas and surrounding area!
Restaurants (on-strip):
- You mostly can’t go wrong with most places on-strip. The prices will vary wildly, so check yelp ahead of time.
- Hexx: located in the Paris hotel. Good steaks and dinner, also pretty good brunch.
Restaurants (off-strip):
Most of these places are about a 15-20 minute Uber ride from the strip.
- Bad Owl Coffee: Harry Potter themed cafe, with amazing pastries and butterbeer coffee.
- Kitchen Table: Fancy Brunch
- Donut Bar: A world famous donut place that opens at 8AM and sells until they run out, which is at about 10AM. There’s a big line, but it’s worth it.
- PublicUS: A bakery, cafe, and brunch place. They have really good shakshuka and avocado toast.
- Container Park: Near our wedding venue, there are many good food and bar options here, including a hoagie place, a gourmet sandwich shop, and an all day brunch restaurant.
- Honey Pig: 24-hour Korean BBQ, for when you really need the meat sweats.
- Honey Salt: Good brunch, but need reservations.
- Madhouse Coffee: Extremely good coffee and blended drinks. Pastries and snacks are excellent too.
Bars:
- NERD bar (off-strip): The name says it all. All drinks are themed after video games or movies, there are arcade games and console gaming tables, a bowling alley, and a working mechanical bull that has been replaced with a….*cough*, well, you’ll have to see for yourself. Possibly one of our favorite places in Vegas.
- Golden Tiki (off-strip): A hidden pirate-themed tiki bar that serves Dole Whip and Dole Whip drinks. For an extra $1 they’ll serve your drink on fire.
- Millenium Fandom (off-strip): A quieter bar with theme nights and cool nerdy decor.
- The Chandelier (on-strip): The bar in the Cosmopolitan has a mixology menu and really unique drinks and atmosphere. It is on-strip, so it is expensive. The really good mixology drinks are in the lower level.
- First Friday (off-strip): It could be on May 1st, so we may miss it, but for anyone coming really early: First Friday is an event held in a park with food trucks, drinks, music, and art.
- Golden Spike (off-strip): This bar is across the street from our venue, and has a huge outdoor bar with cornhole, giant beer pong, and lots of other outdoor games.
Entertainment and Day Trips:
Aside from the standard Cirque/Comedy/Musical acts, there are lots of unique places around Vegas.
- Grand Canyon/Hoover Dam: Ask the concierge about guided tours, or rent a car and drive there!
- Sky Combat Ace: Have you ever wanted to fly a WW1 biplane or experience air combat between two planes? This place will take you up in a plane to experience all of that.
- Battlefield Vegas: Want to shoot a grenade launcher or crush a car with a tank? Apparently you can do that in Las Vegas.
